CodeCreate engages learners through personal design experiences with fundamental materials, integrating technology, art and other forms of diversity. Through workshops for youth and educators, exhibitions, commissions and cultural exchanges, CodeCreate shapes creative opportunities for audiences and participants to imagine, reflect, play and innovate.
CodeCreate leads youth, educators and audiences through personal multimedia expressions. We build opportunities for mechanical and digital technology to blend with communities and the environment.
We live in a world filled with monolithic forms of technology surrounding us, yet our understanding of technology is often no greater. CodeCreate's work engages learners with both a paint brush and code. Through powerful workshops and exhibitions, learners with CodeCreate realize new capabilities, roles, responsibilities and understandings.
CodeCreate connects thousands of technologically underserved people, with differing physical abilities and of varying economic means, across urban and rural areas, with a healthier and safer relationship to technology through art.
Close to a decade of success has brought us nearly a hundred diverse partners including The National Science Foundation, M.I.T.'s Media Lab, The National Art Education Association and Hamburg's Mut Theatre. These organizations, along with The MacArthur Foundation, Motorola and the Creative Schools Fund as well as many others, have provided us with funding that has allowed us to continue our work.
