The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum was founded with the goal to provide the City of Winchester, Frederick County, and the greater Shenandoah Valley area with its first user-friendly, hands-on, interactive center for informal education. Today, the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum is the recipient of patrons and many visitors from the region and from other parts of the U.S.
