They specify the budgets, the countries with which Sweden - and thereby Sida - is to work with, and the focus of Swedish international development cooperation. The Director General is the head of Sida and has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the decisions of Parliament and the Government are executed. The Director General also makes decisions at the overall level in respect of Sida's organisation, including the appointment of managers at Sida and counsellors for development cooperation at the embassies.
