Ideaborn supports government and civil society organizations in promoting access to Human Rights and developing participatory programs to pursue the Social Development Goals 2030 agenda.
It provides technical assistance to enhance Good Governance and Justice and Security Sector reforms to consolidate peace in fragile states. Its Governance, Democracy and Rights approach includes themes such as advice to natural resources-extracting businesses to engage in community development and legislation drafting and implementation to transform women, children, and minorities' rights into measurable policies.
Created in July 1999 in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, as a consulting company, it has implemented 75 accredited for bilateral and multilateral donors. It has worked for multilateral and bilateral cooperation agencies such as the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the United Nations Population Fund ( UNFPA), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the African Union (AU), the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR), the European Commission (EC), the United States Development Agency (USAID), Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC), the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) the Denmark Development Cooperation (DANIDA), the German Technical Cooperation ( GIZ), German Development Bank ( KFW), and the ministries of foreign affairs of Norway and Monaco.
