The company was founded by Ed Keane in 1996 in Boston, Massachusetts, where he has been a life-long resident. Ed graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Biochemistry, yet music remained a creative passion. He founded the company to develop his growing interest in the field of artist management and project development after working as an agent in the talent booking field at Ted Kurland Associates. Renowned drummer, educator and Thelonious Monk Institute founder T.S. Monk and fellow Harvard alum and Grammy Award winning banjoist Alison Brown were among the first artists to become clients.
Through the years, Ed Keane Associates has worked with some of music’s most gifted artists in the musical genres of jazz, classical, and world including Nnenna Freelon, Jon Faddis, David Amram, Harry Connick, Jr., and more. During that time, Ed Keane Associates has produced touring productions including Century Americana, and Dreaming The Duke in association with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
The company has grown to offer talent booking, production, and music publishing services and is formed into two parts: the Management Division, and the Booking Division. Ed Keane, personally, supervises all international bookings, production, and operations. In addition, the company provides consulting services to multi-national corporate and educational institutions.
