CLAIR is a government-affiliated general incorporated foundation that works to support the internationalisation efforts of local governments in Japan through training opportunities, fostering people-to-people exchange with the JET Programme and other initiatives, promoting economic exchange, supporting multiculturalism, and by carrying out research on behalf of local governments.
We aim to offer consistently effective support to our local government stakeholders using the know-how and extensive international network we have cultivated since our founding more than 30 years ago.
Our overseas offices make use of their own extensive local networks for the benefit of Japanese local governments’ overseas efforts and offer flexible and detailed support. Through individual surveys, they gather and provide information about local governments overseas on topics such as tourism, products, and welfare.
