Media Sourcery, Inc. is a secure workflow automation company, with over a decade working in the healthcare vertical. The company has processed over 10 million workflows, over 5 million automated insurance checks, over 5 million health device events, including 50,000 automatic emergency escalations and over 150,000 COVID-19 tests processed through labs and results.
One of our initial (and still running projects) was to integrate multiple medical devices into a workflow, where each reading from a device (an “event”) was checked against a set of rules (known as clinical protocols) to determine what automated action, if any, to take (a notification or the start of an automated process in response to the event).
Our company’s heritage and continued focus is in capturing data and making knowledgeable decisions on that data. With healthcare device data, each reading was an opportunity to help an individual. People more knowledgable in clinical protocols fed us the boundaries and we built the rules for monitoring blood glucose levels, blood pressure and other personal health information.
This foundation gave us a head start as we started to deploy IoT sensors to measure soil, air, water, weather, movement and other events. Whereas with our healthcare partners we might set up a data event initiated rule that says “if blood glucose > x and blood pressure < y do this”, for an agriculture environment we might set up a rule that says “if soil moisture < 30% and humidity < 50% (i.e., no rain is imminent) then turn on the irrigation system”. We now have many of these different sensors integrated into our systems.
In this manner, our solutions use data from sensors and devices for multiple purposes:
- Automation (notifications, starting additional processes based on a reading).
- Information (dashboards with data from sensors, plus external information).
- Verification (using device and sensor data to provide evidence for our Proof of Authenticity solution, using DLT).
