RT (formerly Russia Today) is a global international news network that broadcasts in multiple languages from its studios in Moscow and Washington, DC. Launched in December 2005 as Russia Today, RT now reaches nearly 650 million viewers worldwide. RT covers the major issues of our time for viewers wishing to question more and delivers stories often missed by the mainstream media to create news with an edge. The RT network consists of three global news channels broadcasting in English, Spanish and Arabic, RT America broadcasting from a Washington, DC studio, a documentary channel RTDoc and a full-service video agency, RUPTLY. In 2010, RT became the first Russian channel to be nominated for the prestigious International Emmy award, in the News category. The network received its second nomination, in 2012, for coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement, becoming the only Russian TV channel with two iEmmy nods for News coverage.
