Jamy has danced with two of the major contemporary repertory companies in the world of dance: Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Nederlands Dans Theater. He spent his performing career entertaining audiences around the globe and observing it all through a teachers point of view. The dancer's freedom to perform is only accomplished when he/she learns to trust that the technical training that's been in development for many years will be available to the artist when called upon. By focusing his teachings around the idea of an economy of movement and freeing oneself from technique, the dancer can put their full focus on their artistic expression allowing a strong channel of communication to be formed and maintained with the audience. A dancer is first and foremost an artist that has chosen their body to be the tool for creative expression. Jamy introduces dancers to a process of self-analysis in movement. The perspective shifts to discover that perfection is in the process and the resulting performance becomes sincere and unique.
