After merging operations in November 2016, AAI, a NELSON brand, has officially changed its name to NELSON. The completion of this transition marks the full integration of the Bay Area architecture and interior design firm with NELSON, a full-service architecture, design, engineering and consulting services organization with nearly 1,100 employees and more than 25 locations nationwide. AAI’s name change represents the next step in NELSON’s expanding reach into Silicon Valley and the West Coast at large.
Since 2016, AAI’s strengths in corporate interior design, building repositioning, and tenant planning have complemented NELSON’s service lines and practice areas. AAI’s portfolio of Bay Area technology clients has also added new depth to the firm’s TAMI (Technology, Advertising, Media and Information) practice. Some of AAI’s recent clients include Sokon SF Motors, AAA, F5 Networks, Cisco, Safeway and Trimble.
“Our name change to NELSON is the culmination of over a year’s effort in bringing our talent and resources together,” said Mary Jane Marshall, Senior Director at AAI. “Our full integration with the firm will enable us to continue delivering design excellence and personalized attention to our local clients, with the added services and bench depth that this national firm brings.”
“We are thrilled to have AAI fully integrated with the NELSON brand,” said Harvinder Singh, Regional Operations Director for California. “AAI’s transition brings new cohesion and higher visibility to our California practice.”
AAI’s offices in San Jose and Pleasanton will join NELSON’s line-up of other West Coast offices in Los Angeles and Seattle as well as San Francisco through its merger with WK Design Group.
