The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) transports Caspian natural gas from the Shah Deniz II field to Europe.
TAP is a Transmission System Operator (TSO) and an Independent Transmission Operator (ITO), providing capacity to shippers interested in transporting gas in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.
TAP is the European leg of the Southern Gas Corridor, enhancing Europe’s energy security and contributing to decarbonisation and the diversification of gas supplies.
The 877km long pipeline connects with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border at Kipoi, crosses northern Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy, where it links to Italy’s gas transportation grid operated by SNAM Rete Gas.
TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SOCAR (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (20%), Enagás (20%).
TAP AG has its headquarters in Baar, Switzerland and offices in Athens, Thessaloniki Kipoi, Tirana and Melendugno. Currently, TAP employs over 130 people from 18 different nationalities across the 4 countries and works with several experts from contracted service companies.
