Original Ownership: In 1932 Mr. Woodley Sr. began selling Chevrolets in Tuscaloosa as Tuscaloosa Motor Company. In later years 2 of his sons operated the dealership, and eventually a son-in-law became a part of that original company. The dealership during those years was located first in the downtown area in a building later used by The Tuscaloosa News. In the late 1950's the Chevrolet dealership moved the "Foot of River Hill". This was the popular name for the end of Greensboro Avenue at the point where a draw bridge crossed the Black Warrior River into Northport. Current Ownership: In December of 2002 a new Dealer, Donny Crowe, purchased the Chevrolet franchise from the family and the name officially became Tuscaloosa Chevrolet. 3 years later, in December of 2005, the dealership moved to a brand-new larger facility on the Eastern edge of Tuscaloosa. It is still growing there today with state-of-the-art Service and Sales facilities at Exit 77 off of Interstate 20/59.
