Established in 2003, the Robot Institute of Hong Kong (RIHK) is the pioneer in robot education. It provides various types of robot assembly courses for primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong. To date, more than 30,000 students from more than 80 primary and secondary schools have enrolled in the wide array of training courses offered by the Institute, learning the skills and knowledge for assembling robots and thriving in creativity.
Putting STEM education to action
In recent years, countries with advanced levels of technology as well as the Education Bureau of Hong Kong have been actively promoting STEM education, which encourages students to go beyond the confines of subjects and apply knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in their learning. RIHK has been at the forefront of pedagogical trends, putting STEM education to action through lessons with engaging and interesting content, and also researching and developing STEM education kits. Students assemble and install components, and write programming for the robots and are able to learn through collaboration. By designing their own work, students will have their logical thinking enhanced. They will also benefit from a enhanced problem-solving ability in real-world situations as well as stronger confidence.
Quality management certified by ISO 9001:2008
RIHK is an educational organisation proudly recognised by ISO 9001:2008 for its quality management. The ISO certification, which covers courses on designing and making robots, is concrete proof that RIHK courses are both professional and of recognised quality. RIHK is the educational organisation of choice for students who wish to have their creative thinking and problem-solving skills trained.
