Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania is a not for profit organisation established in 1976. We provide programs & services to support people with arthritis, osteoporosis & related conditions. We work together with the Tasmanian Government, medical & allied health professionals, research institutions, other health NGOs, & the wider community.
We offer a range of services including:
Arthritis InfoLine - a free service, staffed by a team of volunteers. We provide information & support to assist you to understand your condition & importantly to understand how you can enhance you mobility, function independence & quality of life. Call our InfoLine on 1800 011 041.
Community Information Sessions - Offering talks on arthritis & related conditions in a range of settings including retirement villages, service clubs & community groups.
Aids & Equipment - To view our interactive display, visit our office in Moonah, or call the InfoLine to discuss what is available to meet your needs.
Warm Water & Strength Training Programs - Our Smoother Mover programs are an excellent way for people with arthritis to build strength, ease stiff joints & relax sore muscles. Our programs are suitable for beginners & are open to people of all abilities & fitness levels.
Take Charge of Pain - a small group program designed to help participants find ways to manage pain & work towards creating a better quality of life.
An experienced education provider, Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania offers quality training & professional development for healthcare professionals. Our online training courses & community education modules, have all been developed by our educators in consultation with relevant peak & professional bodies and contain the latest evidence based information, reflecting current best practice.
