The Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe), established in 2005, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit international alliance of more than 100 policy leaders, educators, law enforcement members, technology experts, public health experts and advocates. Through this network of support, iKeepSafe tracks global trends and issues surrounding digitally connected products and their effect on children. This research drives the continuous creation of positive resources for parents, educators and policymakers who teach youths how to use new media devices and platforms in safe and healthy ways.

iKeepSafe offers privacy assessments for technology vendors wishing to confirm and communicate quality privacy, safety, and security practices to educators and parents. The iKeepSafe FERPA Badge, California Student Privacy, and COPPA Safe Harbor Seal Programs provide a standard for companies to demonstrate their commitment to compliance, offer a trusted way for educators to evaluate products and websites, and build confidence for families. Websites, apps, data-management systems and other technologies that handle student data are assessed not only for compliance with federal and state law, but also alignment with iKeepSafe’s guiding principles and recommended best practices.
