Dr. MaryJane Healey has been practicing in the Seattle area for 9 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts with a minor in Pre Medicine at the University of Washington in 1994. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Vision Science in 1999 and her Doctorate in Optometry in 2001 at the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry.
She completed ocular disease training at the Missouri Eye Institute in St. Louis Missouri as well as the American Lake Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. She monitors patients for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, hypertensive retinopathy among many other conditions and performs pre-operative exams and post operative co-management for Lasik and Cataract surgery.
In addition, Dr. Healey specializes in fitting contact lenses to manage astigmatism, bifocals, multifocal toric (astigmatism), and rigid gas permeable lenses.
Dr. Healey is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington. She participates in the Gift of Sight program to donate her services to under privileged children to ensure they get the eye care that they need and works in conjunction with LensCrafters who supplies spectacles to ensure that their sight isn’t preventing them from keeping up with their peers.
