The Chubu University is a comprehensive university encompassing seven colleges and twenty-nine departments in the arts and sciences. Its graduate school consisting of five graduate courses offers fourteen master and doctoral programs. It is an institution initially established in 1938 as a pre-eminent technical university for the Chubu region. It became Chubu Industrial University in 1964, and changed its name to Chubu University in 1984. Chubu University’s mission is to produce graduates who are reliable and highly cultivated, have specialized capabilities and the ability to act, who care about the public good and think independently, from a broad cosmopolitan standpoint.
