The Green Cycle Drive is an environmental initiative founded by 3 GMA students, its mission is to respond to the challenges posed by environmental degradation to ensure a sustainable and secure future. We aim to spread awareness about climate change to the upcoming generation and empower young environmentalists to make a difference in their community. Our primary goals are to educate everyone about proper techniques and the appropriate channels to use whilst disposing of household waste, to organize frequent recycling drives and cleanups where students are presented with a golden opportunity to make the world a cleaner place and to minimize the creation of waste in our daily life.
From its inception, the Green Cycle Drive has organized multiple recycling drives and cleanups in collaboration with students from a multitude of schools in Dubai. To name a few - The initiative’s first drive was the ‘Karama Recycling Drive’ where we successfully collected over 1000kgs of recyclable material and deposited it in the Karama recycling center. We held a cleanup at Al Qudra Lake, an artificial desert oasis, in order to take a step in the right direction at preserving the beautiful landscape of our planet. In total, we have collected over 40000kgs of recyclable waste material with the help of over 700 volunteers, who are all eager to make a difference. To this day we still maintain a healthy number of active volunteers and propose all of you join and be a part of this change.
