Individual career counselling provides students and graduates with detailed information on career opportunities and development. We offer career advice and support graduates in their search for employment.
Events
The Career Center of the University of Maribor organizes various events, such as lectures, seminars, workshops, discussions and meetings. The majority of these events may be attended by all students and graduates interested, while others are organized for specific groups. We also arrange visits to potential employers.
Information on job vacancies, internships and career prospects
Students and graduates of the University of Maribor can obtain information on job vacancies and internship programmes in Slovenia and abroad. Employers may advertise job vacancies and internship programmes on our website free of charge.
Cooperation with companies/employers
Companies may cooperate with the Career Center in the following manner:

- company presentations at faculties and on our website
In order to facilitate and encourage cooperation between the University of Maribor, employers and the Career Center, we provide employers with the opportunity to post topics for theses or other assignments focusing on expert solutions.
In 2016, the University of Maribor successfully competed in the Public Call for the Co-Funding of Activities of Career Centres in Higher Education 2015-2020, published of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, thus securing co-funding for the project Upgrading of activities of the Career Centre of the University of Maribor. The project was co-funded by the European Social Fund (80%) and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport under the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy 2014 – 2020; priority axis 10. Knowledge, skills and lifelong learning to enhance employability; priority investment: 10.1 Enhancing equal access to lifelong learning for all age groups in formal, non-formal and informal settings, upgrading the knowledge, skills and competences of the workforce, and promoting flexible learning pathways including through career guidance and validation of acquired competences; specific objective: 10.1.3. Promote flexible learning pathways and support high-quality career orientation for school-age youth at all levels of the education system. The operation will be implemented in the west Slovenia cohesion region (hereinafter: WSCR) and the east Slovenia cohesion region (hereinafter: ESCR) by accounting for the registered headquarters of the beneficiary implementing the operation. Allocation of funding by cohesion region: WSCR 67%, and ESCR 33%. The project runs from 1 July 2015 through 30 June 2020. In preceding periods, i.e. 1 July 2013-30 June 2015, the Career Centre of the University of Maribor (CC UM) operated under the project Further development and implementation of activities of the Career Centre of the University of Maribor, and operated under the project Establishment, development and provision of condition for the long-term operation of career centres of the University of Maribor in the period 1 July 2011-30 June 2013. Both projects were co-funded from sources referred to above.
