Saskatoon Co-op is a different kind of business. We are a co-operative which means we are a jointly owned and democratically controlled business that meets the common economic, social and cultural needs of our members. Members can be any group of people – customers, employees, or even other businesses or organizations. Membership means you own part of our co-operative. As an owner, you can participate in the democratic decision-making process by asking questions, voting on resolutions at our Annual Meeting, electing board members or even sitting on the board yourself.
Each year, Saskatoon Co-op may return a part of our profits back to you, based on how much you shop with us and how well our business performs. Some of this is returned as equity, which is like a savings account that grows every time you shop at our association.
We’re more than just a place to shop, we’re a business built to support our communities and meet the needs of our members.
