Founded in July 2003, Veneto Nanotech aims at co-ordinating the Italian Nanotech Cluster’s activities and implementing its strategic goals.
Veneto Nanotech focuses on technology transfer and acts as a single point of contact for the companies it collaborates with, for which it develops projects, specific jobs and joint initiatives.
It also promotes actions to support technology start-ups and to attract companies that may be interested in investing in the regional territory.
The aim of Veneto Nanotech is to identify and develop new applications for ongoing research lines, accomplish technology transfer projects with businesses, prepare and co-ordinate national and Community-level projects, foster new start-ups and promote awareness and dissemination of nanotech issues.
These activities are mainly carried out in its three research facilities:
LaNN - Nanofabrication and research lab (focus: lithography and nanodevices);
ECSIN - Research centre actively researching the impact of nanotechnology on health, environment and society;
Nanofab - Research lab focusing on knowledge transfer in the field of surface treatment and new nanostructured materials
