Bureau NY is a Brooklyn based cinematic content company that is widely recognized for its signature documentary-style projects and expertise in authentic and conscious storytelling For almost two decades, we have been creating films and series to inspire and amaze viewers from all over the world. We, Remco Bikkers- cinematographer - and Ilja Willems - director/creative producer - have been working together since 2004 and have operated all over the world. In 2009 we were privileged to sail the seven seas on a sailing ship in the footsteps of Charles Darwin for a documentary series. While visiting places like the Galapagos and the Cradle of Mankind in Africa and filming stories about evolution, human immigration and the natural wonders of the world, we came to a deeper understanding on how we are all connected and how precious our planet is. It helps us in our approach to storytelling. Bridging continents and connecting people in order to tell interesting stories became one of our well-known trademarks. Bureau NY was established when we moved from Amsterdam to New York City in 2010. Together, we make award winning documentaries and documentary series, like Opioidemic and Eva Jinek’s USA, a wide variety of human-centered journalistic productions for broadcasters and documentary style branded content. Bureau NY creates commissioned projects but also works on assignment. We work for international clients and broadcasters like BBC, VICE, ARTE, VPRO, Deutsche Welle, NOS, KLM, PUMA, ING, O.M.A, Kika NY and many more.
