CRIF Ratings is a credit rating agency based in Italy and authorized since December 2011 to assign ratings to non-financial companies based in the European Union in the form of bond issuer and issue ratings.
The agency is subject to supervision by the ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority), the European authority to ensure the correct operation of the financial markets. CRIF Ratings is a member of EACRA, the European Association of Credit Rating Agencies.
CRIF Ratings has been recognized as an ECAI (External Credit Assessment Institution) in accordance with European Regulation 575/2013 and the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2013/36/EU, enabling all the ratings issued by CRIF Ratings to be used by banks, insurance companies and financial institutions for the determination of capital requirements for solvency purposes according to the mapping tables defined by the Joint Committee of the European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, ESMA and EIOPA).
