The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) is an independent statutory authority that administers NSW’s legislation dealing with privacy and access to government information.
We were established on 1 January 2011 to support the Information Commissioner and the Privacy Commissioner in fulfilling their legislative responsibilities and functions, and ensure individuals and agencies can access consistent information, guidance and coordinated training about information access and privacy matters.
Our Strategic Plan 2017 - 2020 outlines our commitment to Engagement, Operational Excellence, Rights Promotion, and Impact, through strategic imperatives and measurements, and underpinned by our Regulatory Framework.
The current CEO/Information Commissioner is Elizabeth Tydd and Privacy Commissioner is Samantha Gavel.
