The Air Cadet League of Canada, Ontario Provincial Committee is a civilian (non-military), community –based, and volunteer led organization, which in collaboration with the Department of National Defence and other partners, is dedicated to supporting the objectives of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program, and to developing in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promoting physical fitness; and stimulating the interest of youth in the aviation and aerospace industry, including the air element of the Canadian Forces.
Each Provincial Committee is headed by a volunteer Chairperson and Board of Governors. Provincial Committees are responsible to establish their own office and provide for its operation.
The Air Cadet League of Canada Ontario Provincial Committee (OPC) is a registered charity operating as an incorporated company with a small professional staff to:
• Recruit and retain in Ontario 1,600+ Adult volunteers and 8,350 Cadets youth per year through 14 Regional Operating Committees and 120 local units in the province,
• Delivery of year round Adult Volunteer training and Cadet youth programming, and
• Coordinate public relations and support with the National Air Cadet League structure and Department of National Defence to deliver the program.
In Ontario, the Air Cadet League of Canada - OPC is a non-profit charitable organization (BN/Registration No. 130387665 RR0004) that relies solely on funding through various contributions and donations made by a variety of sponsors - individuals, associations and good corporate citizens and have has no dedicated government funding.
