Lewis & Scott is a pro-social organisation that was created to address a critical national issue – the shortage of suitable housing for older people. We design and build homes that are 100% affordable, specifically for local people aged 60+, and which incorporate innovative and accessible design. Mainly single storey, with mixed tenure options and reflecting pocket neighbourhood principles, our homes allow people to downsize without having to leave friends, family and the place they love. Our unique approach and socially-focused goals are supported at all levels of government, academia and people of all ages, who recognise the need to give older people more choice. We hope that within a very short time our model will be available throughout the UK, helping people live happier, healthier and more independent lives.
