The home for creative writers in the south west of England. We are an arts organisation and a registered charity offering access to stories and creative writing. We support progression and we showcase talent. We offer paid opportunities to writers and we work with communities.
We nurture talent: Literature Works exists to support new, developing and established writers in the South West from diverse communities. Literature is for everyone and we all have tales to tell. We offer a programme of courses, masterclasses, mentoring and advice, supporting writers to develop their craft and sustain a living as working writers.
We break down barriers: Literature Works champions the use of creative writing and reading as a socially engaged practice to strengthen communities and enhance wellbeing, helping to tackle key challenges, such as social isolation, inequality and discrimination.
We share our expertise and love of literature by working in collaboration with fantastic partners from a range of sectors including, education, healthcare, commercial publishers and booksellers and many more arts and heritage organisations.
We connect people: to each other, to opportunities and to their stories.
