The “Treat and Teach” package started with an initiative that was launched in 2016 at the League of Arab states with the presence of 13 Arab and African countries, representatives from the international telemedicine community, healthcare providers and policymakers. This meeting was the seed for the initiation of Ain Shams University Virtual Hospital. Ain Shams University Virtual Hospital (AVH) develops technology-enabled healthcare systems in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. It achieves its goals through “Treat, Teach and Innovate” strategy. The team strives for equitable healthcare in the region through customized, time-bound innovative capacity-building packages.
