Just For Kids, Inc., is an accredited Child Advocacy Center serving children who have been sexually abused in Raleigh, Fayette and Wyoming Counties in West Virginia. Just For Kids works as a team with local investigators, prosecutors, medical professionals, family advocates and mental health professionals to create a coordinated response for children alleging criminal child abuse (sexual abuse, serious physical abuse, and serious neglect). Just For Kids provides child friendly forensic interviews by nationally trained forensic interviewers, family advocacy to the child and non-offending family members and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT) to the children and families experiencing the trauma of child sexual abuse. In addition Just For Kids was the pioneer in providing Stewards of Children training to Southern West Virginia. Stewards of Children is an awareness and prevention program that provides adults in the community with the tools to help prevent child abuse by becoming aware of the conditions that foster abuse as well as how to best support children and families who experience this abuse. Just For Kids also conducts a media campaign to help inform the general public about the widespread occurrence of child sexual abuse.
