Iranian Standard Research Institute (SRI), has been established by the amendment of article 2 of the revised regulations of Iranian national standards laws dated 23.03.1999. The SRI, a related body of the Iranian National Standards Organization (INSO), is formed to carry out research and development works in the fields of science, technology and medical technology. Following the changes in structure of INSO and according to the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan of Iran and the article 3 of the statute, SRI has got administrative and financial autonomy in 2006.
