Community Futures is mandated to support small business development and rural economic diversification in British Columbia. We actively work with community and business leaders to foster rural economic growth and are partners in building vibrant and sustainable communities. Community Futures Thompson Country provides flexible and affordable small business loans, business coaching/training services, and business management tools for people wanting to start, expand, franchise, or sell a rural business. Different than a bank, Community Futures uses alternate lending criteria, focusing on rural development and providing business financing to small local businesses. The Government of Canada funds us through Pacific Economic Development Canada and has supported rural entrepreneurs for over 35 years. We service Kamloops and the surrounding communities of Avola, Barriere, Blue River, Chase, Clearwater, Little Fort, McLure, Pritchard, Sun Peaks, Vavenby, and Westwold.
