DESAIN GRAFIS INDONESIA or INDONESIA GRAPHIC DESIGN is a collaborative site focused on the History of Graphic Design in Indonesia as an integral part of the international graphic design collective heritage.
DGI was founded on March 13, 2007 by one of the Indonesia’s most respected and senior graphic designer Hanny Kardinata.
With the tagline “Fostering understanding among Indonesian graphic designers and its juncture in art, design, culture and society”, DGI is proclaimed as a part of Indonesian graphic design history to become a bridge between the experienced—senior generation and young designers. In their “blueprint”, DGI is more than a site but an institution and pro-bono organization focused on the research and Indonesian Graphic Design Development as a base and portal of design information, design publication, competition, job search, exhibition, knowledge database and visual collection database. This master plan’s goal will be DGI Museum in Jakarta that has already been prepared and located in Chandari Design Community Village since 2009.
