BARBARA’S STORY
Barbara, a young wife and mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer in metastatic stage in 2009. She had a mastectomy and went through uncountable sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
During summer 2011, Barbara challenged her sigmaessays com fear and along with her husband Hany and two children, Leonie and Leonard, “The Lebanese Flag Trip”.
For 80 days, she travelled all over Lebanon and visited more than 1655 villages and towns and collected signatures of mayors on a 10452 dm2 Lebanese flag, that she presented to the Lebanese President.
She proved that her Faith and will are stronger than fear and even stronger than death.
One year later, on 16 August 2013, help me write an essay Barbara defied again her illness. From the highest peak of Lebanon, Qurnet Sawda, she addressed, with her children and husband, regards to her doctors, fighting her disease.
Mission
Seek enhancing hospitalisation conditions of cancer patients in Lebanon.
Contribute in ensuring funds to cover expenses for patients in need.
Work on moral and financial support for patients and their families
Raise awareness among Lebanese about the importance of cancer prevention and ask the Government to establish mandatory early detection examinations.
WHO ARE WE?
Throughout 2014, Hani Nassar, the husband of Barbara, and the co-founder Christine Nakhoul, focused on transforming the association from an individual initiative to an institutional organisation.
On 14 February 2015, a conference was held at Mount Lebanon Hospital under the patronage of the Minister of Health, to mark the official launching of the association with its complete new administrative structure.
