Janani is a non-profit Indian society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860, also an affiliate of DKT International, a Washington D.C. based non-government organization which operates in 20 developing countries. In India, Janani has been working under the Contraceptive Social Marketing Program and National Health Mission (NHM) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, since 1995, in Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
