El Puente Bilingüe strives to empower language learners. We take best practices for for supporting emergent bilingual students and apply it to our teaching and learning approach. El Puente Bilingüe has roots in Montessori, homeschooling, and inquiry-based learning. We are doing something really special for the Montessori community! Our exclusive Montessori-inspired Spanish world language materials harness the wonderful skills and knowledge that Montessori students acquire through their English language learning experiences and support world language learners in laying a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary, while building analytical skills that will fuel their language learning journey for a lifetime. We also support teachers and students from upper elementary through adulthood who are not in a Montessori community but would like to lay a strong foundation as a beginner student of Spanish. We offer independent, self-paced coursework as well as lessons and coursework that teachers can utilize in the classroom. These materials utilize a comprehensible-input approach while teaching useful language skills that can be applied to daily life. In all of our curriculum, whether mainstream or Montessori-inspired, we strive to help students gain a strong grasp on grammar and vocabulary while providing opportunities for learners to construct knowledge through independent and group work.
