The Point Church was started to help the victims of the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Over the years our church has always been strategically located close to the people in need throughout San Jose. We just recently completed our current building in perhaps the most beautiful and strategic location for a church in San Jose, the Evergreen neighborhood. Interesting Trivia: As the Great Depression started, the ladies in the church began to minister to the community by feeding hundreds of children in the church basement during their school lunch hour. This ministry is credited in California history as the inspiration and start of California's public school hot lunch program. Regardless of all the changes our church and San Jose have experienced since then, our church has never forgotten its mission to the people of San Jose. We are more involved than ever in leading a generation to find and follow Jesus.
