Located at 650 N Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Lighthouse of Broward is the go-to resource for the visually impaired in Broward County. Our mission is to provide specialized rehabilitation, life skills training, and employment opportunities that enhance the independence, productivity, and dignity of children and adults living with visual impairments.
Founded in 1973, we are the sole private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Broward County offering comprehensive educational and rehabilitation services, along with counseling, to visually impaired individuals of all ages. Annually, we serve over 2,500 people.
We're proud to hold accreditation from The Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER). Additionally, we are a valued partner agency of the United Way and an active member of esteemed associations like the VisionServe Alliance and the NonProfit Executive Alliance of Broward.
With approximately 150,000 visually impaired individuals in Broward County, primarily due to the attractive retirement appeal of the region, we stand as a vital support system. Our services are delivered on-site at our Fort Lauderdale campus, remotely through phone or video conferencing, in the comfort of homes, and within various community locations.
