MSF Sugar is a leading agribusiness company – we are an integrated grower, processor, marketer and exporter of raw sugar. Our company employs around 750 people and we are Australia's largest sugarcane farmer, with a land and water portfolio of $170m. Our farm operations cover 9,700ha in the Fraser Coast, Cassowary Coast and Atherton Tableland regions and we grow around 650,000 tonnes of cane from our company owned farms.
Our Corporate Head Office is located in Gordonvale just south of Cairns and our major milling assets are located in Far North Queensland and the Fraser Coast region in South East Queensland. Internationally, we are managed by the Thai-based Mitr Phol Group.
MSF Sugar has a 124-year heritage in Australia and a future which centers on being a leader in the biofutures sector. With multi-million dollar investments in green power plants, novel farming systems and agricultural infrastructure, together with our grower partners we are forging ahead with a re-imagining of the sugarcane industry.
Our current assets include four sugar mills, supporting infrastructure (including cane railway networks), agricultural property and water rights to support our cane growing activities. The mills are located at Gordonvale, South Johnstone, Atherton Tablelands and Maryborough.
In addition to our milling and farming operations, we are currently building a $75M green energy power station at our Tableland Sugar Mill. On completion in July 2018, the power station will use a 100 per cent renewable sugarcane fibre known as bagasse to produce 24 megawatts of electricity – enough to power every house in the Atherton Tableland region.
