Few sporting organisations boast a proud 100-year heritage like the Professional Golfers Association of Australia.
The PGA is a not-for-profit Member-based organisation representing Tour Professionals, Vocational Professionals and Trainee Professionals who work in golf facilities throughout Australia and overseas. Our Members play an integral role in servicing more than 1.2 million Australians who hit the fairways each year.
The PGA owns and manages the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, the official sanctioning body for all elite male Professional tournament golf in Australasia, and has a successful history in producing numerous Major winners and world ranked players including Kel Nagle, Peter Thomson, Jack Newton, Greg Norman, Ian Baker-Finch, Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Geoff Ogilvy, Adam Scott and Jason Day.
The Australian PGA Championship, Emirates Australian Open, World Super 6 Perth, ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open and Fiji International are just a few of our sanctioned tournaments that carry World Ranking Points.
To ensure the Australian golf industry maintains its position as one of the best in the world, the PGA provides industry specific training and education opportunities for those seeking to start, advance or consolidate their career in the golf industry.
The PGA runs three education divisions: the PGA Academy, PGA International Golf Institute and PGA Centre for Learning and Performance. Collectively, these divisions offer traineeships, further education and performance coaching to PGA Members, Tour Professionals and the public - both domestic and international.
Golf is one of Australia’s most popular participant activities and a significant contributor to the Australian economy generating over $2.7 billion annually.
