New Orchestra of Washington (NOW) strives to build a world in which transformative musical experience is available and accessible to all. NOW is a one-of-a-kind chamber orchestra with flexible instrumentation that elevates every member to his or her highest potential as an individual virtuoso and an ensemble player, creating a unique and engaging live performance experience for its audience. In 2012, Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez from Mexico and Executive Director Grace Cho from South Korea founded NOW with the belief that music has the power to connect people and bring communities closer, guided by six values: Collaboration, Representation, Education, Advocacy, Technology, and Experimentation (CREATE).
