CRS is independent, non-profit public institution oriented towards common welfare. Together with respectable shipowners, CRS has been involved in shipping and shipbuilding industry since 1949. The organisational knowledge has been passed on to over 80 mechanical engineers, naval architects, scientists, and structural and material specialists who are at clients’ disposal today. CRS is a member of International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), a top leading group of classification societies which cover 90% of the world's cargo carrying tonnage. It has been granted authorisation for different aspects of statutory certification such as surveys, approvals and certification services, by all the most important Flag State administrations.
