Astro Films is a brand name for CPP, BOPP and BOPET films manufactured by Ismail Industries Limited - Astro Pack, PlastiFlex Films Pvt. Limited, and Astro Plastics Pvt. Limited respectively. Ismail Industries Limited is a group of companies’ involved with manufacturing of sugar confectionery products (under the brand name of Candyland), Biscuits (under the brand of Bisconni), and Chips & Nimco (under the brand name of Snackcity), CPP films (Astro Pack), BOPP films (PlastiFlex films Pvt. Limited), and BOPET films (Astro Plastics Pvt. Limited). In 2003, Astro Pack started its operations at Hub / Baluchistan with three layer CPP Plant manufactured by a renowned Italian Company “Gruppo Colines” having a capacity of producing 5,000 tons CPP film per annum. To meet the rising demand of the country and to cater to customer needs on time, the group decided to go into expansion and in 2010 have established a new company M/S Plastiflex films Pvt. Limited to produce BOPP films. A Bruckner line having the capacity to produce 5,000 tons annually was started at Gadani (very close to Hub) / Baluchistan. In 2011 the company embarked in further expansion of its packaging film production capacity by ordering the first ever in Pakistan BOPET film line to Bruckner; for the production capacity of 15,000 tons per annum. While selecting plant and equipment, due care was taken to ensure that the new production line would be based on the latest technology available. The enhanced features in the new line of BOPET will further improve the operational efficiency and provide with the technical capabilities to meet the expectations of the customers. The BOPET plant has been started. Astro Plastics Pvt. limited is the first manufacturer and exporter of BOPET films from Pakistan.
