Cooperative Energy generates and transmits electricity for 11 Member distribution systems across Mississippi. Cooperative Energy and these 11 distribution systems, collectively known as the Power of 12, provide power to more than 445,000 homes and businesses across the state, serving more than 1 million Mississippians.
The distribution systems are connected to our generation sources by 1,812 miles of high-voltage transmission lines. Cooperative Energy generates electricity with a diverse mix of coal, natural gas, solar and nuclear resources.
Cooperative Energy serves as the only not-for-profit wholesale electric power provider headquartered in Mississippi. We employ over 450 skilled and professional employees, all of whom are focused on providing safe, affordable, and reliable electricity to the 11 Member systems we serve.
