Multicultural Counseling Center (MCC) is a mental health clinic that specializes in the Latino community, although we serve anyone who needs our services. We provide a sliding scale fee and other insurance payments such as Optum medicaid, Molina, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, Aetna, UUHP, and more as well as awarded funds from the Utah Office for Victims of Crime.
MCC provides individual therapy, children’s therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and groups. Clients can count with fluent Spanish bilingual and native Latina/o clinicians that specialize in serving the Latino community and other minority groups. Our team specializes in trauma and our treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialect Behavior Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. However, the treatment modality is chosen based on what best fits the needs of the client and may be adjusted throughout treatment.
We understand that life is complex and that when someone is in need of help it may feel like being inside of a tornado with nowhere to turn for safety. Making decisions while we are not clear on what we want or what is the best path to take can be damaging. Counseling helps as it provides a safe space for individuals to process events, evaluate with an objective mind what it is that we want, and allows us to have the time to
experience the feelings that we suppress as the day to day activities and demands take place.
Some of the most common issues we work with are:
Anxiety
Depression
Behavioral Concerns
Adults molested as children
Loss and grief
Parenting
Bullying
Intimate Partner Relationships
Stress
Substance Abuse
Bereavement/Grief/Loss
Domestic Violence
Sexual Assault
Victims of crime.
