Framer Framed is a project and exhibition space in Amsterdam. Framer Framed started out as an initiative to discuss the politics of representation and curatorial practices in the 21st century. As a cross disciplinary platform for people concerned with the art and museum sector we organize public meetings within different institutions. Together with visitors, source communities, museum professionals, artist, academics and other stakeholders we publicly stage critical exhibition readings and thus monitoring museum policy. Our aim is to develop a contemporary, post colonial, art historical discourse. Framer Framed has organized over 50 exhibitions, symposia, lectures, artist talks and masterclasses throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Great Britain. Members of the platform contributed to publications, editorials, exhibitions and radio broadcasts.
