DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION SUPPORT
for researchers
Produced multiple cover illustrations for scientific journals and designed graphical abstracts, diagrams and figures for published scientific papers. Cover illustrations are mostly a creative process involving visual analogies, usually with a loose control from the scientist. On the other hand scientific diagrams and figures
are produced with fine detail in close collaboration with the scientist, with focus on accuracy, salience and clarity of the particular scientific message to be portrayed.
DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION SUPPORT
for scientific institutions
Created promotional material for scientific events and programmes. Designed reports, logos and websites for multiple institutions or scientific consortia. Whilst this is mainly an exercise of pure graphic design, its is highly beneficial to share a common scientific background and interest with the people I develop work for.
SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATOR
for scientific exhibitions
Researched and developed over 20 infographic panels for a exhibition on neuroscience | Brain- wider than the sky | held at the Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon. These visuals included content on the brain´s evolution, neurons and synapses, different cognitive processes and the development of artifical minds . The panels were seen by 90.000 visitors over a 3 month exhibit period.
