In 2014, animator and director Tom Van Gestel founded the animation studio and production house Fabrique Fantastique (FF) in Geel, Belgium.
Today the company is located in an old factory building in Lier and has over 50 employees. Tom Van Gestel manages a team of 2D and 3D artists, draftsmen, graphic designers, screenwriters, up- and-coming directors. It’s a close-knit team where employees are given the opportunity to learn from each other, and thus become proficient across multiple disciplines. The versatility of the group ensures that the projects, with the exception of sound finishing, can be fully realised within FF.
From the off, FF has, as an animation studio realised a number of diverse projects: a BOIC publicity spot for the Olympic Games, concert visuals for Ellie Goulding and George Ezra, backgrounds for a theatre production, the short film The Girl by Hans Op de Beeck and the 3D animation and effects for the feature film Urbanus: De Vuilnisheld.
Over the past two years, FF has co- produced the Dutch, award-winning mid-length feature Mind My Mind with Cinété and the feature film HEINZ with Bosbros, for which the team drew all the backgrounds.
Currently, FF is working on the series BIM and Interstellar Ella at the moment.
