Soda Bar is a live music venue/bar located in the neighborhood of City Heights/North Park of San Diego, California. The club first opened in November 2008 by Bluefoot Bar owners Adam Cook, Cuong Nguyen & partner Nina Babcock at the location formerly known as Chaser’s (3615 El Cajon Blvd). It didn’t take long for Soda Bar become a pillar in the San Diego music scene for both local & on the rise national touring acts such as Foster The People, Shakey Graves, Tune-Yards, Cults, Japandroids, Sylvan Esso, The War On Drugs, Purity Ring, Benjamin Booker + many more. The club also acts as an outside promoter regularly presenting concerts at venues across San Diego county (Irenic, Casbah, Belly Up, Quartyard, Music Box, Ché Café, House of Blues & others).
In 2018 the business was sold to a new ownership group, Big Soda LLC, which is comprised of longtime Soda Bar talent buyer Cory Stier & original general manager Angie Ollman as well as Tim Mays (owner of the Casbah) and Andrew Montoya (musician, The Sess/Beaters/Ale Mania).
