𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦: The SCI was founded almost fifty years ago to upgrade the technical expertise of insurance industry practitioners as part of Singapore's drive to establish itself as an international insurance hub. Since then we've enhanced capabilities across insurance and financial services through practice-oriented programmes, certification programmes and professional qualifications. Though this mission to develop capability has (and always will) remain the same, the way we do it has come a long way. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: From talent upskilling and development to advisory and industry engagement, our role is not just about maintaining the status quo, it is also about taking the industry forward, preparing teams and industry professionals for what's ahead. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞: What does this strategic direction mean in practice? Well, we lead a number of talent and skills-building initiatives under the ASEAN Insurance Council/ASEAN Insurance Education Committee umbrella. We have also built several critical international links with renowned organisations across the globe, such as The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), The American College of Financial Services (TAC), The Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), and The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). 𝐖𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬: The SCI won the Asia Insurance Industry Educational Service Provider of the Year in 1997, 2001, 2007, 2016, 2018 and 2022.
