As a nonprofit organization we implement Bridge High Dosage Tutoring interventions. We combine this with a focus on the social-emotional development of the kids. Our goal is to raise the math-scores and social-emotional development of the kids and increase parental involvement. Our projects are funded by different organizations and funds (Gelijke Kansen Alliantie, school (boards), municipilaties and many more).
Our overall mission is to reduce the inequalities in Dutch education, and social inequalities in general.
>>> We are always looking for new tutors who share our mission and want to be part of our movement. You don't need a specific educational background, but should be curious and passionated to work with our kids and learn about the Bridge High Dosage Tutoring method. You can read more and send your application here: https://tbli.nl/onderwijsheld-worden/
This High Dosage Tutoring method is developed by the American organization Saga Education, and has shown huge results at high schools in the US. Saga Education will keep advising us on our projects.
We serve primary and high school students with 2-5 hours extra math-classes per week for one year long from their personal tutor in 2-on-1 setting during schooltime. Tutors have (bi)weekly contact with their parents. We're focusing on their math skills, but also on their social and general acadamic skills. Social relationships are the foundation of our approach.
We make sure that the results of our projects are continuelly evaluated by research to make our project evidence-based. A research team of the University of Amsterdam will continue doing quantitative and qualitative research and advise us on the project. Our research results are very positive and can be found on www.uva.nl/sepp.
